Varutharacha Meen Curry (Kerala Style fish curry made in fried coconut)

Ingredients:

Any fleshy fish - 1/2 kg
Pearl onions(Kunjulli) sliced - 4 nos
Tomato-1 big
Curry leaves - 1 stem
Fish Tamarind (kudampuli)- 2to3 pieces(according to ur taste)
Salt - As reqd
Oil - 3 tbsp
To dry roast

Grated coconut -1/2 cup
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tbsp
shallot, chopped -3
Ginger, Garlic chopped 1/2 tbsp
1 sprig - Curry leaves
Chilly powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
Pepper powder -1/4 tbsp
4 tsp of coconut oil

Method:
1.In a pan add oil and dry roast grated coconut along With the ingredients like Fennel seeds, shallot, Ginger, Garlic, Curry leaves. Roast till coconut turns to a light brown color.Now add other ingredients listed, and stir till the masala powders turn a deep colour. Cool the mix and grind it in a mixer grinder.
2.In a deep vessel onions, Tomato and the coconut past,Tamarind and salt. When the paste boils and aroma comes, add fish pieces. Add sufficient water such that the pieces are well immersed in the mix.
3.Allow it to boil in a medium flame and let the gravy thicken.

Curry is ready..
